The 5 Most Important Factors In Selecting A County Durham Wedding Photographer

You’ve probably heard about the importance of choosing a good photographer for your wedding day. But what exactly makes one photographer better than another? Read on to find out!

Location, Location, Location

Chances are if you’re here on this page, you’re from North East England.

If not, ignore us. Welcome and all that!

If you are, when selecting a wedding photographer for your big day, it’s a good idea to look local. You know when people on the telly are always banging on about shopping local and all that? Think of this exactly like that, but it’s photographers instead of nice cheese from a local farm that you’re buying.

If you’re looking for a County Durham wedding photographer, we’re the ideal ones for the job. We were born and bred in Stanley (in case of Booth) and Peterlee (in case of Curtis) and we know the area very well indeed.

Most photographers also charge you extra depending on travel. We’ll be honest, we do too - £0.50 per mile to cover our petrol money - but as we’re local, you’ll be charged much less than going with someone from the depths of the south.

Check Out Those Prices!

Already been hitting the net, googling everything about Durham wedding photographers?

We can’t blame you there - we’d do exactly the same thing!

There’s loads of photographers out there, and when you’re selecting your wedding photographer, there’s a big question you’ll probably have on your mind: ‘How Much Will My Wedding Photography Cost?’.

This varies massively depending on photographer, but - for some - you can expect to pay a minimum of £1500.

At Booth & Curtis Photography, we don’t believe in charging an arm, a leg, and most of the rest of the body for our Durham wedding photography.

Our half-day shoot starts at £500, our full day is £950, and if you want an engagement shoot thrown in too, it’s £1100.

The only extra cost is aforementioned mileage, and if you’re shopping local, that won’t be much anyway!

Feel the Vibe

What do you want from your Durham wedding photographer?

Well, firstly…obviously…brill photos, right? DUHHHHH Booth and Curtis Photography.

But you also want someone you can trust, right? Someone who’s easy to get on with. Someone who’s going to get involved in the spirit of your day, not whisk you away too much from your fam and friends and will more than happily stand upside down in a fountain to get a photo, if that’s what you want?

In short, you want a photographer who’s friendly, personable and down-to-earth.

That’s us! We’re a real-life couple from here in the North East, and we pride ourselves on our friendly, approachable and - if we dare say it ourselves - downright awesome wedding photography.

How Many Photographers?

At B&C Photography, we’re great believers in one photographer being great, but two being even better!

Even the very best photographers can’t be in two places at once. But when a couple of photographers are there together on a wedding photoshoot, they can cover angles that just wouldn’t be possible when one photographer is at the other end of the venue.

So, in short, if you hire a wedding photographer who includes two photographers as standard, you’re getting a little bonus there too!

For example, Crystal might be at the back of the church for your wedding, capturing those wide-angled shots with all your family and friends sitting, watching you getting married. Dan, meanwhile, will be doing his best to blend in with the altar in front of you, capturing your faces and the raw emotion of your wedding.

Sounds good, right?

We include both of us as your Durham wedding photographers as standard with all of our packages.

Have a Chat!

Look, we could prattle on all day about what you should do and what you shouldn’t do, but - honestly - some of the best advice we can give is just have a chat with your potential County Durham wedding photographer.

A website’s all well and good and is the first port of call between you and your photographer, but you really won’t know what they’re like until you actually have a chat with them directly.

Whether that’s by email, call, Zoom or even in person, a good photographer will be happy to help any client, and should come across as personable, friendly and interested in your wedding day.

If you’d like to do that with us, just jump on any of our pages and use one of the web forms to send us a message. Alternatively, you can email us at boothcurtisphotos@gmail.com
