A Pair of Happy Campers - Wedding Photography Gallery

When Sarah and Leigh approached us to ask about our availability and told us they were getting married at Camp Katur, we got a bit excited.

This beautiful campsite, found in Bedale, Yorkshire, also doubles up as an amazing wedding venue.

The site itself has some stunning glamping pods and lodges (more on those later) as well as two wedding ceremony areas: Sarah + Leigh decided to get married in the beautiful barn.

Sarah & Leigh had us with them on our half day package; as they were getting married in the afternoon, they wanted us to cover some preparation, the ceremony and also some photos afterwards too.

Bridal Prep

Bridal prep takes you to all kinds of places when you’re a wedding photographer, but this was a new one for us!

Sarah had booked out Camp Katur’s Bellatrix glamping pod where she stayed the night previously, and this was their base of operations for the wedding prep too!

The pod is essentially a big igloo made of canvas, complete with its own window, fancy bed and kitchenette and even a built-in bathroom! Swanky.

Despite the sweltering heat of the day, we all had a good laugh baking together in the pod as Sarah and her bridesmaids prepared for the big ceremony that afternoon.

Groom Prep

Just down the road from Sarah’s glamping pod, Leigh and his friends and family got ready in a stunning woodland lodge area.

With indoor and outdoor communal space plus individual cabins for everyone, this was a great place for everyone to chill, get dressed and make sure everything was sorted before the wedding.

Leigh was a bit nervous before the wedding, but everything ran like clockwork and before we knew it, he was off down to the ceremony room to finalise everything before the ceremony.

The Beautiful Decor + The Nervous Wait

As a former art student and lover of all things crafty, Sarah’s wedding decorations were all created by her and Leigh, and they dressed the venue themselves before the ceremony!

They did truly an amazing job; the finished result was absolutely breathtaking.

A big shoutout to bridesmaid Sarah who is responsible for the stunning wedding cake too.

While everyone waited for Sarah’s big arrival, Leigh paced nervously at the front while everyone else was entertained by the vocal talents of the Beardy Busker.

The Big Moment

This is it! After months of planning, kids to entertain, bunting to prepare and so much more, it was time for Sarah and Leigh to get married.

The two tied the knot in front of around 60 family and friends, and there were tears, laughs and some truly beautiful moments.

Dan’s eyes honestly misted up when both of Sarah & Leigh’s daughters walked down the aisle together, the eldest sister holding her sister in her arms. Luckily his vision didn’t blur too much and he managed to still get the photos!

Swings & Swords

After the ceremony, and a bit of mingling, we borrowed Sarah & Leigh for a little bit to take advantage of some of the stunning scenery at Camp Katur.

A beautiful woodland area with accompanying array of swingsets proved the perfect backdrop for some wedding photography.

On the way back, we happened to come across a toy sword someone had left behind. We couldn’t resist the opportunity to have some fun with it, so gave it to Sarah, who was more than happy to pretend swordfight with her new husband. She wouldn’t believe us either that we didn’t plant it there ourselves!
